On-page SEO optimization for the pages that bring you business
Links and content only pay off when the page they point to is ready to rank. On-page SEO fixes what's on the page itself: how well it answers the search, how it's titled and structured, how it's linked from the rest of your site and whether Google can crawl and understand it.
On-page SEO is the optimization of everything on a page that you control: content that matches search intent, the title tag and meta description, headings, internal links, images, structured data and the technical basics that let Google crawl and index the page. It's also what makes link building work. A backlink pointing to a page that already answers the search well does far more than one pointing to a weak page.
What an on-page SEO audit covers
Search intent and content gaps
Each page is compared with what currently ranks: the format searchers expect, the questions they ask and what's missing from your version.
Titles, descriptions and headings
Titles written to earn the click, one clear H1, and headings that follow the questions searchers actually ask.
Internal links
Links from your strongest pages to the ones you want to rank, with descriptive anchor text, plus fixes for orphan pages and broken links.
Structured data
Schema that matches what's on the page (Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, Article, Product, Breadcrumb), validated so it's eligible for rich results.
Indexing and canonicals
Checks that each page is indexable, has the right canonical, is in the sitemap and isn't competing with a near-duplicate page of your own.
Page experience
Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP and CLS), mobile layout and image weight, with fixes your developer can apply, or I can apply on WordPress.
How the work is delivered
You get a sheet with every page reviewed: the issue, the fix, why it matters and a priority. From there I can make the changes directly (WordPress and most common CMSs), rewrite the content, or hand the list to your developer. Changes are tracked in Search Console so you can see which pages moved.
Which pages to start with
The fastest wins are usually pages that already rank on page one or two with plenty of impressions. In Search Console, look for pages averaging positions 5 to 20: they're close enough that better targeting and internal links can move them. Money pages, such as service, practice-area and location pages, come next.
On-page SEO and link building work together
Most of my work is guest post link building, and the most common reason links underperform is the page they point to. Optimizing target pages before or alongside a link campaign means every link lands on a page that deserves to rank.
How on-page SEO projects run

You get a plan ordered by impact and effort, so the biggest wins come first.
Fix
I make the changes, or give your team clear instructions, with rewrites where needed.
Track
Rankings, clicks and visibility are tracked, and you get a report on what changed.
Questions about on-page SEO
What's the difference between on-page and technical SEO?
On-page SEO covers the content and HTML of individual pages: intent, titles, headings, internal links and schema. Technical SEO covers the site as a whole: crawling, indexing, speed, architecture and redirects. An on-page audit includes the technical checks that affect each page.
Do you make the changes or only report them?
Either. You can take the audit and do the work in-house, or I can make the changes on WordPress and most common CMSs.
Do you write the content too?
Yes. I write SEO and legal content, so rewrites and new sections can be included, written for your readers and matched to the search intent.
How soon will I see changes?
Title and internal-link fixes on pages that already rank can show movement within weeks of Google recrawling them. Bigger content changes take longer. Search Console tracking shows what moved.
Is on-page SEO a one-off?
It can be. Many sites do one audit-and-fix round, then review key pages every few months or when rankings shift.
